Print Services Exhibition
The Project
The UArts Print Shop hosts and annual faculty-juried exhibition where selected students have the opportunity to have their work presented at an end-of-year gallery showcase. In the past, the show was titled Print Services Exhibition — a bit of a mouthful but something that was well established. Internally, however, we referred to the event as PSX.
Working with the Print Shop — and within the university’s overarching brand guidelines — I developed the logo as it’s seen here. Nothing crazy, but something that would grab attention. The goals were to increase student participation in the event and the same for the gallery exhibition — and we did just that. Participation increased by over 300% in both areas. We exceeded every previous metric.
The change had been instrumental in making the event a success; not just in it’s visual appeal but in its emotional impact as well. PSX was its own beast. We went from being small, insular, and unfunded to having a corporate sponsor and a coveted slot in a prominent gallery space.
When the event reception ended I began transforming the logo into a brand identity. Unfortunately, with the university’s sudden closure on June 7, 2024 this project went unfinished.
